New Opera Project (Page to Stage)
"OPERA GROWS IN BROOKLYN" PACKS THE HOUSE!
Jack Perla's dizzying array of styles from foxtrot to minimalism to atonality to 80's cheese-pop, brought the urban experience of relationships to life in Love/Hate at "Opera Grows in Brooklyn," featuring singers from The Manhattan School of Music.
AOP joined Opera on Tap and the Remarkable Theater Brigade on March 20 for a shoulder-to-shoulder evening of mixed drinks and musical dramas at Galapagos Art Space, Brooklyn's powerhouse stage for the alternative arts, proving once again that audiences know great opera is not just found in great opera houses.
The might of new opera featured AOP's presentation of scenes from Jack Perla's Love/Hate performed by singers from the Manhattan School of Music under the music direction of Silas Huff with stage direction by Caren France.
